Hebrew Academy of Tidewater

Many of our students continue their education at the Hebrew Academy of Tidewater (HAT) on the Sandler Family Campus located in the same wing as the Strelitz preschool.

HAT has a full-day kindergarten and is a great transition from the Strelitz preschool. HAT is a pluralistic Jewish day school serving the Jewish community of Hampton Roads. HAT students are challenged in a secular and Judaic studies curriculum that prepares them for middle school and beyond. Students thrive in small classes and feel comfortable asking questions and taking leadership roles in a nurturing environment.

Highlights of the program also include an advanced science program, Jewish studies, Hebrew language and violin lessons. Our graduates are confident and prepared with a strong Jewish identity and commitment to the Jewish people.

We’re proud to send HAT students to the best private, international baccalaureate (IB) and public school academies in our region. Many go on to the most well-respected colleges and universities in the country including Princeton, Duke, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech and more.
